Helly Hansen H2Flow Jacket wins the Desnivel Gear Award 2012

The H2Flow Jacket received the prestigious Desnivel Gear Award 2012 from Desnivel magazine, the leading alpine and climbing media in Spain. The Helly Hansen midlayer has been awarded as the most innovative product of the year in the Apparel / Insulation and thermal clothes category with the following motivation: “Very polivalent jacket, with the unique technology of hollow heat flow that allows the wearer to easily regulate his temperature, making adjustment based on the activity and weather conditions.”

The criteria – Innovation has been the the main criterion for the jury to highlight one candidate over the others. Other aspects have also been taken into account like its functionality, design, quality of materials, durability and sustainable manufacturing. In this edition, the jury remarked the great progress being made by manufacturers, with new –and effective– technologies and high quality products.

The jury – The totally independent nature of Desnivel’s panel of experts is one of the foundations on which rests the reliability of this award. The versatile team of 10 members includes professional climbers / mountaineers, mountain guides and renowned specialists in the various areas of the mountain (skiing, trail-running, orientation…). They have field tested the product candidates for the award during a couple of months.

The winners – The magazine received over 250 products candidates for the award, which where organized in 33 different categories, according to its use. After the test, only 15 products were distinguished with the Desnivel Award, those who managed to combine innovation with functionality, and thus representing a breakthrough for the the mountain and outdoor world.
